👋 Hi! I'm Bhagyashri.
I am a graduate student in MS Big data Analytics program at San Diego State University, California . Currently, affiliated with AI Research Lab @ SDSU where I'm conducting research on the topic of "Amazon Product Reviews" advised by Prof. David Goldberg.
Prior to my grad school, I've worked as a Data Scientist and have got overall 4 years of experience (excluding internships/school years) in Machine Learning, NLP, Data Engineering, Data Modelling & Profiling, Design & Development of Business Data Analysis and Statistical Analysis (Python). I enjoy working in team as much as I enjoy working independently. On the fun side, photography is my hobby and I like capturing picturesque moments of nature's beauty and all living beings. Apart from this, I like to cook and try out new dishes, with some twist of taste and trying out DIY Projects!.

My work history
My last employer was Saviant Consulting, Pune, Maharashtra, India. I was working on end-to-end research, design, development, and deployment of Machine Learning Models. I was handling a team of four developers, including me. I was responsible for training-deploying NLP models for Sentiment analysis of user feedback, Conceptualizing & implementing org-level Application Level Management (ALM) activity for automated reporting, designing NLP algorithms, AWS Cloud Deployments, Interviewing and technically assessing candidates, Supply-Demand analysis, and enabling automated Dynamic Alerts for critical KPIs.
My career in Big Data Analytics started with my first employer Honeywell, Pune, Maharashtra, India; which is popular for manufacturing automotive products. I was the single point of contact to the customers. My primary responsibilities included collecting & analyzing business requirements, developing automated reports, optimizing Dashboard performance, providing Hierarchical Access Rights for the stakeholders, etc.
This early startup experience let me learn a lot of things and has directly contributed in my vertical exponential growth. I learned the importance of prioritization, mitigating problems at hand by precedence, delivery-oriented research, and finding the correct spot in product development & business objectives.
My educational background
As an undergraduate, I majored in Computer Engineering from University of Pune (UoP) in 2016. It was a very fruitful time in my life as I invested a lot of time in learning and exploring various technical workshops, events and competitions. Workshops I explored included Android App Development, Arduino Development, Big Data Analytics, Ethical Hacking, Robotics, etc. As a result of this, I was crystal clear of where I need to head after my undergrad studies and start a career in Big Data Analytics domain. I learnt a lot about social connections, maintaining and nurturing relations with people in this phase.
I worked on the problem statement of 'Camera-based assistive Text and Product Label Reading Product Label Reading for Blind person' using Optical Character Recoginition algorithm, as part of my year long final year thesis project. The vision was to design a algorithm and build a working prototype to demonstrate an automated model which scans, reads, translates and gives audio output to assist blind people.
